Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it across OHM. Labs sites and services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly (for example, form submissions, emails, website URLs, and any files you send us by email). We also process limited request and device information — including your IP address — needed to deliver, secure, rate-limit, and troubleshoot the site and its forms. If you reach a form through a campaign or referral link, we may capture the attribution parameters in that URL (such as UTM tags) so we know how you found us. Optional analytics data is collected only after you allow analytics. We do not sell personal data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiries and provide services you request.
- To operate, maintain, and improve our website and related experiences.
- To communicate about updates, projects, and support — only with your consent where required.
- To send Field Notes, our occasional email updates, only if you opt in through the dedicated footer form or the optional box on the project form. Both add your address directly to the Field Notes list, and the footer form also sends a transactional welcome email. Every Field Notes email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
3. Browser Storage & Analytics
The site uses session storage under the key ohm:intro-seen to avoid replaying the homepage intro during the same browser session. We also store your analytics choice under ohm_analytics_consent_v1 in local storage so we can respect it on later visits. These preferences are not used for advertising.
When Google Analytics is configured, its script is not requested until you select “Allow analytics.” If allowed, Google Analytics 4 may receive the page visited, interaction events, browser and device information, and approximate location, and may set first-party analytics cookies such as _ga. If you decline, analytics does not load and site functionality is unchanged.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the “Privacy choices” button shown on the site. Withdrawing stops further tracking in the site and attempts to remove the Google Analytics cookies available to us. You can also clear site data through your browser settings.
The project, audit, and footer subscription forms use Cloudflare Turnstile as a strictly necessary anti-abuse service. It loads when you interact with a protected form, regardless of the optional analytics choice. Cloudflare may process limited request, browser, device, IP-address, and challenge-interaction data to decide whether a submission is legitimate. We use the resulting single-use token only to protect the forms, not for advertising or audience analytics.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate our website and services, including hosting and security providers, our email delivery provider for form messages and transactional confirmations, and Cloudflare for hosting and form security. If you subscribe to Field Notes, we share your email address (and your name, if you provided it) with Brevo, our email marketing provider, solely to deliver those emails. Google Analytics receives data only when you have allowed analytics. These providers process data for their respective services and are subject to contractual and data protection obligations.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or to comply with legal obligations. If you subscribe to Field Notes, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@ohmlabs.co.
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data. No system is 100% secure, but we strive to keep your information safe.
8. Third-Party Links
Our site may link to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date below.
